So I started a diet last Wednesday that is working wonderfully right now. It's tough but so worth it. I started a blog just to track my weight loss and such because I hopefully someday will allow it to be accessed by other people on the diet and they just don't need to know all my personal stuff that I put on this blog. So if you want to learn about my diet and progress and give support please click on the link on the right that says My weight loss journey.
That's it for today. I have to go help Brad clean Ethan's room and do laundry so I will try to blog later. TTFN

Our Christmas Day!
Our Christmas day was terrific. We had to wake the boys up at just a little after 7am since we had to be to my sisters at 9. So we got the boys up and they started opening presents. Cameron was a little slower to get started but was pretty excited when he opened up his bow and arrow that Santa got him. Ethan was so cute because we got him a shopping cart but didn't put it together I just wrapped it in the box so he unwraps it and I can tell he's not quite sure what it is but I ask him "so what did you get Ethan?" he looks at the picture which has a little boy pushing the cart with a teddy bear in it and some pretend food and smiles and says "ooohhh a teddy bear and a ......kid." It was so cute. We finished opening gifts and then got ready to head to my sister's. We had a terrific breakfast and then opened gifts. They got some awesome toys and books and puzzles. Ethan got a huge (like bigger than him) puppy for his bed and immediately hugged it and tried to lay down on it. The last gift the boys received were from my sister and she made them double layered fleece blankets. They are so soft and warm. We then watched headed to Brad's dad's. We had a wonderful lunch and then opened presents. Last but not least we headed to Brad's mom's. We visited and opened presents. Finally after a long day we got to head home. We snuggled up on the couch and watched my ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!! Miracle on 34Th Street. It was so nice to finish the day that way. It was a terrific Christmas day.

FRUSTRATED
So we had Ethan's appointment today. AND I AM MAD!!! I was told it was going to be the upper GI scope to look at the esophagus. So we go and instead it's a barium swallow test usually used for patients who choke on fluids. Ethan doesn't choke on fluids we already knew that so I got to spend an hour or more (lost track of time) trying to get Ethan to calm down enough to drink barium so that the radiologist could see if he swallows right and if the fluids go into his lungs or not. It was Hell to say the least. How do you get a 2 1/2yr old to drink barium on command?
Anyway so we got only half the swallow shots they wanted but Ethan was done he was not going to drink any more and we were all getting wore out so Dr. Bihde said we could be done. So now we wait for results. When I got home I called our nurse and she said that this is the first step that had they did the scope I was refering to we would have had to go to seattle or spokane. It would have been nice to have that clarification before we got to the exam and then to top it off they scheduled him for 11am with nothing to eat or drink 4hrs prior. My poor ethan was starving. We had to go to walmart and get heaters and drive around to keep his mind off of being hungry. But we are done with that part for now so hopefully it gives us some answers or a direction to go in anyway. Will keep you all posted.

Ethan's appointment(s)
So over the past 4-5months Ethan has been getting progressively worse at choking on food. It used to be once every 2 or so weeks and then it got to about once every week in a half and down to once a week and this last week he choked twice. So Saturday we took him in to see Dr. Eisert and see what he thought of it all. He talked to us a while and checked Ethan out and then decided that it may be one of a few things or a combination. So we are treating him with Zantac for acid reflux which may be irritating his esophagus. It may be something like a lesion in his throat or abnormal epiglottis (the flap that covers the wind pipe) or something like that also so Monday I have to call and they are going to schedule him for an upper GI scope to take a look at things and see if there is anything causing this.
It scares me so bad and to see him panic and gasp for breath just breaks my heart. So please pray for us that we can get this scope done soon as he choked again today and I don't think I can handle much more of it. Also pray that the scope goes smoothly and quickly...in my mind it's as bad as him having surgery...it scares me just the same anyway. Please also pray that we can find what the problem is and treat it. (Preferably with something else other than Zantac syrup....It smells horrific and tastes just as bad. We have been mixing it with chocolate milk but he has to have it twice a day and that's a lot of chocolate milk. =) ) Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and I will keep everyone posted.

Pampered Chef Party
OK so it' a fine line between a bad party host and a bad aunt and I would rather be a bad party host. I have to reschedule the Pampered Chef Party in lieu of my nephew's Christmas program. I know you are all as extremely bummed as I am on the missed opportunity for girl time but as you are all parents and most of you are aunts I am sure you understand my dilemma. So I have emailed Brooke to find out when we can reschedule it. I am looking at either this Friday (which is very short notice.) next Tuesday (which I think Brooke was unavailable) or I will have to go out to the following week or I could have the party at like 5pm this Thursday if everyone promises to be out by 5:45 so I can head to the program. LOL Anyway so I will let everyone know when the new party is scheduled for. Thanks for you patience and maybe the second time around I will get more attendance commitments. =) TTFN
