My Mother's Day was terrific. We got up nice and really early (lol) and went and picked up my mom and then headed over the pass to Woodland Park Zoo. The drive over was uneventful and went rather smoothly. All three boys (brad, Ethan and Cameron) slept most of the way over while I drove and mom and I talked. It was actually a really nice drive. We left Wenatchee around 7am and got to the zoo just before 10am. The weather was fabulous. Sunny with a light breeze that kept us from being hot. It was gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for better weather.
We planned out our route so that we could see just shy of 1/2 the zoo by lunch time. The boys did awesome and were so excited to see the animals. The animals seemed to be enjoying the weather too as most of them were out showing off. We had a good lunch and then headed back out to see more animals. I thought the zoo closed at 4pm but found out that it didn't close till 8pm but the inside exhibits closed at 6pm. Well come to find out it was a very good thing the zoo didn't close at 4pm because at 4pm we still had the "African Savanna" to see which includes the giraffe, elephants, zebra, monkeys, and a few other animals. But we managed to see all of that by 6pm and were ready to head home. Just as we were at the last animal viewpoint looking out at the Zebra's it started to rain. Phew! Boy am I glad it waited till we were done.
All in all it was one of the best Mother's Days I have had so far. Aside from my very first mother's day. (Nothing can replace the feeling I had on my 1st Mother's Day. The pride of finally being part of the mommy club is overwhelming. At least in my opinion.) But I am so happy I got to spend my mother's day with my boys, husband and especially my mommy. =) And the boys were in such good moods we didn't have to get on either one about anything all day. It was so wonderful. Anyway hope all my friends and family had an equally lovely day. Mom's Rock!!!!!
